This website

• No cookies, no trackers, no analytics scripts, no third-party fonts
• Download and purchase clicks pass through our own server, which counts them in aggregate (platform, country, channel); no IP addresses are stored and no per-visitor records exist
• Displayed prices localize using a country hint from our own server's edge network; nothing about the request is stored
• The post-purchase page fetches your license key from our server using the checkout session id in the link; that is all it does

The app

• Transcription, editing, translation and burn-in run on your machine; your media files are never uploaded
• There is no account and no sign-in
• Checking for updates sends the app version and platform only; no identifier of any kind
• Usage telemetry exists but is off unless you opt in, asked once, plainly, at first launch. If you opt in: anonymous usage events (feature used, language pair, error codes) go to our server, which strips your IP and relays them to an EU-hosted analytics service. Never file names, never paths, never any content you type or process. Opt out anytime in Settings
• Crash reports are sent only if you choose to send each one

The optional cloud features (Pro)

Two Pro features process data off your machine, both clearly labeled in the app and always your choice: cloud translation sends subtitle text, and cloud transcription sends the compressed audio track of your video. The video file itself never travels. Content passes through our server to the processing provider and is not stored by us; our server keeps only anonymous usage counters for the fair-use allowance, tied to your license signature, not your identity.

When you buy Pro

• Payment is processed by Stripe; card details never touch our systems. Stripe acts as its own controller for payment data
• We store your purchase record: email address, name if you gave one, license key, and subscription status. Legal basis: performing the contract. Kept while your license is active, then as long as tax law requires
• License emails are delivered through Resend (EU region). No tracking pixels, ever

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask for access, correction, deletion, portability, or restriction of your data, and you can object to processing. Since the only personal data we hold is your purchase record, most requests are quick. Write to support@overcaption.com. You can also complain to your local data-protection authority. The data controller is the operator of Overcaption, an Italian sole proprietorship, VAT number IT04292510239; full identity and address are on every invoice and available on request. We do not sell data, run ads, or share data with anyone beyond the processors named above.
